The Yandex team announced the launch of a new convenient function of the Kinopoisk service – now through it you can quickly and easily find out what kind of music is playing in the frame at the moment.
In scenes where music is playing, the name of the song and the artist is displayed in the interface of the Kinopoisk player. Yandex.Plus subscribers can send the track to a special playlist “Like it on Kinopoisk” in the Yandex.Music collection and listen to it later from any device, including the TV itself.
As the developers note, the technology is able to recognize both instrumental music and songs of different artists who play in the background in a film or TV series.
Recognition works in Kinopoisk applications for smart TVs, in mobile applications for iOS and Android, and in the web version. In the near future, the feature will appear for Apple TV.
