Russia’s security service has announced that Kostantan Zavizenov, a former ally of Vladimir Putin, has been found dead after receiving a bullet to the head. Newsweek.com reported that his body was found by his son at the family’s country house in the Istra region just outside Moscow. According to foreign media, Zavizenov was “drinking non-stop” a week and a half before he was found dead, because he was getting a divorce, because his wife caught him in bed with another woman. In fact, 10 days before he died he had sent a message to his family and friends, where he “thanked them for everything” and said goodbye. Some speculate that it was suicide, while others believe that he was murdered because of his ties to the mafia.
