Kremlin: Agreement on Ukraine is complex and no deadline for completion

There could be no deadlines for preparing a memorandum between Russia and Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to comments published on Tuesday (20) local time, by state-owned news agencies.

“There are no deadlines and there can be no. It is clear that everyone wants to do it as soon as possible, but of course the devil lives in the details,” said the Kremlin spokesman.

“The drafts will be formulated by both Russia and Ukraine, these preliminary documents will be changed and then complex contacts to develop a single text,” said the Kremlin spokesman.

US President Donald Trump made calls on Monday (19) with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, and European Union leaders, France, Italy, Germany and Finland, in an attempt to advance peace in the three-year war in Ukraine.

After the connection, Trump said Russia and Ukraine will begin ceasefire negotiations immediately.

Putin said Russia “is ready to work with the Ukrainian side in a memorandum about a possible future peace agreement.”
