Kremlin: The situation in Donbas is extremely tense

Repeated predictions by Western countries about a Russian invasion of Ukraine are provocative and could have adverse consequences, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov was quoted as saying by Interfax-based Reuters news agency.

Russian President Vladimir Putin does not take such Western statements into account, Peshkov said, adding that Moscow invokes the logic of its Western partners.

According to TASS, the Kremlin has stated that the situation on the dividing line in Donbas is extremely tense and that the slightest challenge could have irreparable consequences.

The Interfax news agency also reported that the Kremlin was referring to the “rationality” of the West, stressing that it was the last country to want to say the word “war”.
