That he knows that Pope Francis is considering ways to put an end to conflict in Ukraine announced on Thursday (4/5) the Kremlin while pointing out that it does not have in mind any detailed peace plan from the Vatican.
Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Francis has been willing to mediate between Moscow and Kiev and calls for peace almost every week. Last Sunday he said the Vatican had launched a peacekeeping mission in an attempt to resolve the conflict, but that this had “not yet been made public”.
“We know that the Pontiff is constantly thinking about peace and we know that he is thinking about how to end this conflict” underlined the representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov, as reported by the Athens News Agency.
“But we are not aware of detailed plans that have been proposed by the Vatican in this context,” Peskov told reporters.
