Kuroda says he does not plan to end the purchase of ETFs or ditch the central bank holdings for now

The Bank of Japan (BoJ) has no plans to end the purchase of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) or ditch the bank’s holdings, for now.Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said in a statement on Thursday.

Additional comments:

El BoJ continue to buy ETFs flexibly according to current guidelines.

It is premature to discuss the timing or the means to end the ultra-flexible policy, including the BoJ asset purchases.

Kuroda’s comments occur after the Japanese central bank announced the purchase of ETFs worth 70.1 billion yen on Wednesday, the highest daily purchases on record.
