Kyrgyz working in Russia targeted by armed recruiters, Kyrgyzstan says

Kyrgyz working in Russia are being targeted by armed group recruiters who force them to carry out violent acts, according to a statement from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Labor today. Seven suspects from Tajikistan and one from neighboring Kyrgyzstan have been arrested on suspicion of Friday's deadly attacks at a concert venue near Moscow. Hundreds of thousands of people from the Muslim Central Asian country work in Russia and, according to a statement by Kyrgyzstan's labor ministry, armed recruiters are targeting them through social media, messaging apps and dating websites. Last week's bloody attack has fueled anti-immigrant sentiment in Russia, particularly toward workers from the Muslim ex-Soviet republics of Central Asia.
