British Foreign Secretary Liz Tras said on Monday that preparations were intensifying with allies for the worst-case scenario in the Ukrainian crisis, adding that a Russian invasion was highly likely.
“We must pursue diplomacy, but a Russian invasion of Ukraine seems highly likely. The United Kingdom and its allies are stepping up preparations for the worst-case scenario,” she said in a Twitter post after talks with NATO Secretary-General Jens. Stoltenberg in Brussels.
“We have to make the cost to Russia too high,” he added.
