A mysterious team called A-Team seems to have caught up with the La Palma authorities and saved the dogs that have been trapped on the roof of a house on the island that has been hit hard by the eruption of the Kubre Vieha volcano for weeks.
Authorities said that they would try to rescue the dogs with drones after first keeping them alive by throwing them food from the air with unmanned aircraft. The group of activists claimed to have rescued the animals using less hi-tech solutions, according to the Guardian.
The eruption, which began on September 19 on the Kubre Vieha ridge, one of the most active volcanic areas in the archipelago, destroyed more than 2,000 properties, forced the evacuation of more than 7,500 people and destroyed La Palma banana plantations.

A team of Aerocamaras specialists arrived on the island last week and began preparing for an unprecedented search and rescue operation that would use drones to drop food and then, as soon as the dogs got used to the presence of the unmanned vessel. they would be airlifted to a safe place.
But the first drone search Wednesday, which included two thermal cameras, found no signs of the animals. However, it did bring to light some human traces.
A video appeared on the internet on Thursday that seemed to suggest that any further drone development would be in vain. He pointed to a banner – placed in the water tank where the dogs were last seen – which read: “Stay strong La Palma! “The dogs are fine.”
The banner bore the signature of the A-Team and also contained photos of a number of dogs.
“We saw the video and confirmed it was true, like the traces we found yesterday,” Jaime Pereira, Aerocamaras chief executive, told reporters on the island. “The main thing is that, one way or another, the dogs are out.”
Pereira said his team had seen the banner in the video, but could not read it from the air as it was overturned by the wind.
“We realized something strange was happening because we had checked all the areas where they could be but we found nothing,” he said. “All we want to do now is look at the dogs, check that they are OK – and make sure they are really what we were looking for.”
