La Palma: The story of the house that remained intact while the lava around it had burned everything – “Finally the river swallowed it”

The lof the volcano Kubre Vieha in La Palma, Spain, reached the ocean 11 days after its eruption and eruption. As of September 19, the situation on the Spanish island is dramatic as the lava swallows everything in its fiery passage.

The lava, the speed of which has been changing in recent days and had almost stopped at some point, was still 800 meters from the sea and it was impossible to predict if and when it would reach the ocean. The hot river finally reached the sea on Wednesday 29/9.

Mixing lava, molten rock and other materials with a temperature of more than 1,000 degrees Celsius, with sea water, which has a temperature of 20-25 ° Celsius, raises worry because it will probably mean the release of toxic gases and harmful microparticles dangerous to humans.
