La Repubblica: Russian ship with over 100 spies in southern Sicily

According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, a Russian ship with 146 passengers, many of whom are said to be spies, is located in southern Sicily. This is the ship Vasily Tatishchev, known in NATO with the code Meridian, 95 meters long.

According to La Repubblica and an Italian defense website, most of the people on board are Russian intelligence agents who specialize in tracking and analyzing messages sent by “Russia-friendly” countries by radar. .

Italian media emphasize that the Meridian is located in the north of Tunisia and that it is watching – as everything shows – the NATO exercise “Mare Aperto” (Offshore) which will be in progress until May 27, with the participation of more than 30 ships. and submarines and a large number of aircraft.

As early as January 24, a French navy frigate had intervened to remove the Meridian from the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, which had just sailed from Toulon in southern France.
