Label on dog Joca's transport box had the wrong name and destination, says owner

The box that transported the dog Joca, killed during a flight last Monday (22), had the wrong label, labeled with destination Manaus and with the name of another animal, called Kiara, according to the dog's owner, João Fantazzini. in an interview with CNN .

“His transport box had a label from Manaus, it had a label from Sinop, it had two pink labels saying: this is the dog Kiara”, says the owner.

The case is being investigated by the São Paulo Civil Police. A police report was registered by the tutor's family on Tuesday (23). The company will be investigated for mistreatment.

In a statement, GOL stated that it deeply regrets what happened and that it is offering all necessary support to the animal's owner. “The investigation of the details of what happened is being carried out with total priority by our team”, added the company.

The dog boarded this Monday (22), from Guarulhos to Sinop airport, in Mato Grosso, where it would meet its owner, but ended up being transported to Fortaleza, in Ceará, due to what the company defined as an operational failure.

According to João, the golden retriever's veterinarian, he had given a certificate indicating that the animal was fit to travel for a period of two hours, but due to the airline's failure, the dog Joca spent 7 hours on the journey.

After being informed of the error, when he disembarked in Sinop, Joca's guardian, engineer João Fantazzini, chose to return to Guarulhos Airport to meet the little animal, who was later allocated to an aircraft in the capital of Ceará bound for São Paulo. .

According to GOL, after landing at Guarulhos Airport, the company's employees were “surprised by the death of the animal”.
