Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, queens of Joe Biden’s Inauguration Day

In the most armored inauguration ceremony in the history of the United States, two internationally renowned queens gather around their president to express, through their art and their voice, all the support for a government threatened by the virus and by armed rebels: they they are Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, artists who have always been wrapped in the democratic flag who agree to perform during Joe Biden’s Inauguration Day through two unforgettable performances, marked by the emotion and joy of a new era.

The first to take the stage in front of the Capitol dome is Lady Gaga who, dressed in a black shirt embellished with a golden dove-shaped brooch and a bright red skirt, sings the American anthem holding a microphone plated in gold.

Excited, smiling and with tears in her eyes, Lady Gaga raises her left fist as she pronounces the word “proudly” dragging into her performance all the gratitude for the mandate of the new president in office. It is not the first time that the pop star juggles with the national anthem: she sang it also in 2016, on the occasion of the 50th Super Bowl, but, this time, it is clear that the spirit was different, especially given her support for Biden expressed in the full of the election campaign. Biden and Gaga had also collaborated together in 2017 for a project against sexual assaults and, since that occasion, the pop star has always turned to him considering him a “friend”. Shortly after, Jennifer Lopez took over on stage, wrapped in a white Chanel suit, with pulled hair and very bright skin, proposes a remix version of This Land Is Your Land e America the Beautiful.

She sings with feeling but without betraying emotion, perfect in the candor that her image spreads both from the Capitol in Washington and from the audience watching her from home. In the midst of his performance, the invitation, in Spanish, to be proud of your country and to fight together for a better future, full of satisfaction. As with Lady Gaga, it is not the first time that J.Lo has had relations with the new president: before the elections, in fact, he had participated in a virtual chat in which he had explained the importance of the vote for the containment of the pandemic that especially in Latin America: “For me, it’s about unifying the nation again, getting rid of this hatred” explained Jennifer Lopez, turning a thought to the children who live in a world “where it’s okay to be racist or be prejudiced because our administration says it’s okay ”.
