Lady Gaga, Elodie and Levante, the protagonists of the new issue of Vogue

The November issue of Vogue Italy and that of December of Vogue UK, born from a collaboration between the two magazines, arrive on newsstands with two different cover shots but united by the same cover-star, Lady Gaga, shot by world-renowned photographer Steven Meisel with styling by Edward Enninful – OBE, European editorial director, Vogue. Gaga, for the occasion was interviewed by Giles HattersleyGlobal Network Lead and European Features Director Vogue.

The 35-year-old queen of pop, now an Oscar-nominated actress, talks about herself to Vogue ahead of her appearance in her second film with her second starring role, House of Gucci, the film by Ridley Scott which took twenty years of preparation, and which tells of one of the most notorious crimes of the 20th century. Gaga will be Patrizia Reggiani, socialite and ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci who, in 1998, was convicted of hiring the hitman who killed Reggiani one spring morning in 1995, as he entered his offices in Milan. In her interview with Vogue, Gaga talks about herself and reveals the background of this highly anticipated film. And in the shots he brings out his Italian roots: “Whatever I will wear” – he said addressing the team before going to work – «What I offer you is the true Italian glamor that I have inside».

And so the central theme of the issue of Vogue Italia is transformationism, starting precisely with the fashion shoot with the protagonist Lady Gaga which is portrayed through the eras of fashion, thus changing appearance and style in every image. For this special issue Paolo Roversi an Italian singer is taken for the first time in her career. It is about Elodie, portrayed – as never before – reflecting the idea of ​​metamorphosis and interviewed by Igiaba Scego, Italian writer of Somali origin. Elodie has a particular strategy: never to be the same as herself, to amaze others, but first of all to amaze Elodie and in fact in the interview she explains that: «In Italian music, this desire to transform is not very present. Most artists find a look and keep it for life. Everyone repeats that one must be recognizable, but in my opinion it is not true ».

Another singer protagonist of the pages of the issue is Levante, shot for the Beauty section by the photographer Carolina Amoretti. An extraordinary service that portrays her for the first time pregnant to symbolize a further transformation: that of the body. «It is a sudden transformation», says Levante, «in which all of me expands to look after, assist, accompany». Levante will also be the protagonist of a Native You Tube Series, In The Bag, in which he will reveal the contents of his bag by telling the funniest anecdotes related to the various objects he always carries with him.

Space also for the rising stars of Italian music, in this specific case of rap: Epoque is the protagonist of some images of the photographer Dan Beleiu with styling by Luca Galasso. The Turinese artist of Congolese origin tells Vogue Italia about his music, his history and his relationship with fashion and make-up, and Janine in art Epoque is precisely through the latter that he loves to transform: “With make-up up I have always had a morbid relationship: I love wearing makeup. And in the past I was really obsessed with hair too: I changed it all the time. Since I started my musical career, I have dared even more ».

Finally on the occasion of the debut of the reality show Drag Race Italia, the magazine publishes the portraits of the Drag Queens who will participate in the program, framing an interview that tells how Drag Queens have found their art form in transformism.
