During a history presentation at Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro, Lady Gaga 39, read a Letter dedicated to Brazilian fans . In the text, she clarifies the reasons for her absence in the country since 2012 and thanks all the affection during the last years.
In 2017, the singer would perform at Rock in Rio, but had to cancel the show due to pain caused by fibromyalgia. Since then, Gaga had never performed in the country.
Alongside a fan who read the translation of the letter in Portuguese, Lady Gaga was thrilled and extended the Brazilian flag so that everyone could see the tribute while reciting the English text.
The singer was thrilled with the public reception at the moment and even cried on stage.

“Tonight we are making history. But no one makes history alone. Without all of you, the amazing people of Brazil, I would not have this moment. Thanks for making history with me!
The people of Brazil is the reason why I can shine. Today you are as vibrant and beautiful as the sun and moon emerging on the ocean, right here at Copacabana beach. But of all the things I could thank, the one that touches me most is this: you waited for me. You have expected more than 10 years.
Maybe you are wondering why it took me so long to come back. The truth is that I was healing, strengthening myself. But as I healed myself, something powerful happened. You were still there, cheering for me, asking me to go back when I was ready. Brazil: I’m ready!
I love you. Thank you for waiting. Thank you for getting me back so kindly and with open arms. Tonight I want to help you shine with me, I want the world to see the size of your heart and get inspired by your spirit.
