Lady Gaga: the great return with Disease (in which she faces her inner demons)

It was from the days of Alejandro and of You & I That Lady Gaga he never shot such a powerful and vibrant video as Diseasethe first single from his seventh studio album still without a title, ready to conquer the world in February 2025. In the video clip, wonderfully directed by the Ukrainian director Tanu Muinoalready behind other successful videos such as Up of Cardi B and, above all, As It Was by Harry Styles, Gaga continues a path that she has successfully inaugurated in recent years: that of looking the pain and restlessness that passes through her in the face to find a way to exorcise them. Through women tossed here and there in the street, with greasy hair, wild eyes and lanky, crazy body movements, apparently impossible to control, Lady Gaga continues to work on the shadows that each of us keeps within himself alongside the latest characters he played in the cinema – Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci and Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à Deuxnot exactly two boarders – to that of Joanne, the girl who grew up too quickly and who was crushed not only by the weight of expectations but also by an illness – fibromyalgia – which in 2017 led her to conclude hers prematurely Joanne World Tour because it was impossible to sustain the fatigue and weight that a world tour entails when the body does not support you and is not your ally.

Again and again, again with myself. This integral part of me is beautiful because it is mine and I have learned to manage it. I am the director of my symphony, I am all the actors in the shows that are my art and my life. As scary as the question is, the answers are inside me. Essential and inextricable parts of what makes me me. I save myself by continuing to move forward. I am fully myself, I am strong and I am ready for the challenge”, continues Lady Gaga who, not surprisingly, chose Halloween to share her latest effort with the world.

Together with this dance song with dark sounds, which mixes rock and electronic nuances – she wrote it together with Andrew Watt, Cirkut and Michael Polansky -, Lady Gaga proves once again that she is one of the most multifaceted and eclectic artists of our generation, capable of moving from a sweet and delicate song like Die with a Smile with Bruno Mars, to date the longest single to remain at No. 1 on the Spotify charts globally in 2024, to, in fact, projects like Harlequin And Diseasethrough which Gaga plays with the lights and shadows that have always been part of her character and her career. «I’ve been thrilled to release my new music and to see all the monsters come to life and dance and perform and smile and cry, it’s such a joy.
