In an interview with writer Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast, the director of “Inglourious Basterds” and “Kill Bill” compared Gaga’s performance to that of Margot Robbie which also played Harley Quinn in “Suicide Squad” . For him, the “Barbie” star needed to exaggerate to reach the height of the villain, while the singer was able to play the character in a restrained way .
“Actually, I thought she was fantastic in the film. Harley Quinn is such a big character that when Margot Robbie plays her, she has to do it exaggerating as much as possible to be recognized.
