At least seven people died as a result of a landslide caused by heavy rains in the municipality of Sabaneta, Department of Antioch (northwest of Colombia), on Thursday (8), said Governor Andrés Rendón in his account on social network X.
Rendon expressed condolences to the victims’ families and said that both he and Mayor Alder Cruz are working to deal with the impact.
Separately, Sabaneta City Hall informed its account on social network X that it opened two shelters to help the affected.
The agency also asked the public to give supplies such as non -perishable foods, blankets, rugs, clothing in good condition, personal hygiene kits and lanterns.
