Landslide hits area close to the coast of Boa Vista do Ramos (AM)

A landslide hit an area located 600 meters from the edge of the city of Boa Vista do Ramos, in Amazonas, last Tuesday night (15).

The natural phenomenon of “fallen lands” caused the burial of canoes, in addition to the flooding of three small boats that were recovered by their owners. The incident left no injuries.

According to the municipality’s Civil Defense, the area where the landslide occurred is floodplain land, which favors the aforementioned phenomenon.

The city of Boa Vista do Ramos informed on social media that it is prohibited to dock any type of vessel near the concrete embankment on the edge of the municipality, in accordance with a municipal decree published in May this year.

Another landslide on the 7th left two deaths in Porto da Terra Preta, in the city of Manacapuru (AM). Leticia Correa de Queiros, 6 years old, was among the two missing people, along with Franklin Pinheiro de Souza, 36 years old.
