The prefect in Antioch, Andrés Houlian Renton said via X that 16 deaths were confirmed, while another 8 residents continue to be missing. In the Beygian community, not far from Medhew, Colombia’s second largest urban center, rescue workshops continued yesterday to look for tons of soil and mud, which swallowed houses in the mountainous area to locate trapped or corpses. The mayor of Bayo, Lorena Gonzalez, stressed that the ground is still “unstable”, adding that members of rescue workshops are attempting “great dangers”.
