At least 12 people were injured by the explosion that occurred today at an apartment complex in Gaithersburg Maryland.
The spokesman for the fire service in Montgomery County said that the explosion occurred around 09:00 (local time, 16:00 Greek time) and when the first vehicles rushed to the scene, a large fire had broken out.
More than 100 firefighters were mobilized to extinguish the fire and free the occupants.
Part of the residential complex collapsed due to the powerful explosion, the causes of which remain unclear.
Twelve people, including four children, were injured. Two injured are hospitalized in critical condition, according to hospital imgs.
