The oppositional resource TUT.BY was blocked in Belarus. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Belarusian Internet publication.
The State Control Committee reported that a case was opened against the officials of TUT.BY for tax evasion (part 2 of article 243 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).
The Ministry of Information of Belarus blocked TUT.BY, explaining this by “numerous facts of violations of the law on mass media in terms of posting prohibited information.”
Telegram channel TUT.BY reports that several editors of the site, including the editor-in-chief, came home from the financial investigation department on the morning of May 18.
According to the portal’s editors, the security forces also came to the TUT.BY office. Employees who were in the workplace stopped answering calls.
