One 37-year-old businessman was arrested on suspicion of storing more than 200,000 files of photos and videos of child pornography and pedophilia in the city of Canoas (RS) last Thursday morning (26).
The investigation that led to the man’s arrest lasted around nine months, according to police chief Maurício Barison. During this period, agents identified that the suspect downloaded files from the internet and stored them on devices such as notebooks and external hard drives, to make locating them difficult.
According to the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul, technicians from the General Institute of Forensics began scanning the devices at around 6am. There were more than 16 gigabytes of files detected, which for delegate Barison is “largest store of pedophilia content in Rio Grande do Sul .”
The suspect’s house, where the operation took place, was in a condominium in Bairro Fátima, and was photographed and analyzed in order to investigate whether any of the pedophilia scenes were carried out there.
Furthermore, a man was arrested for being the biggest sharer of pedophile files in the municipality of Torres (RS) on August 27, according to the police chief.
