Latam cancels Guarulhos flight to London by fire near the airport

Following a power outage caused by a fire near one of the busiest airports in the world that announced full closure on Friday (21), Guarulhos airport had a resigned flight, another canceled and a third route with route reprogramming.

According to the airline Latam Airlines Brazil, the LA8084 flight, which would go from Guarulhos to London, had to end the route in Madrid, Spain, due to the power outage. The flight landed in the Spanish capital at 10:20 am, in Brasilia time.

“LATAM is offering the necessary assistance to affected customers, who will be accommodated on another company flight to London and expected to take off on Saturday. Latam regrets the inconvenience caused by this situation alien to its control and reinforces that all its decisions aim to ensure a safe operation for all,” the company said.

The company also had to cancel the LA8085 flight, which would also go to London, this Friday (21), offering assistance to all passengers, which will be accommodated on another LATAM flight on the same route scheduled for next Sunday (23).

“The dealership continues to monitor the situation in real time and maintains constant communication with airlines to minimize passenger disorders. For information about affected flights, passengers should contact companies directly,” GRU Airport said.
