Latam plane loses wheel and makes emergency landing in Guarulhos

A plane from the airline Latam had to make an emergency landing at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, this Tuesday afternoon (6), after the aircraft lost one of its wheels.

Flight LA3923 left at 12:20 pm this Tuesday (6) from Santos Dumont Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, and its final destination was Congonhas Airport, in São Paulo.

During the trip, the pilots noticed a problem with the landing gear and decided to divert from their final destination. Those responsible for the aircraft then made an emergency landing at Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), due to the unit's runways being larger.

After the procedure, it was noticed that the plane had lost one of its wheels during takeoff, in Rio de Janeiro.

In a statement, the airline Latam informed that the plane had to be diverted to Guarulhos airport for corrective maintenance of the aircraft.

The company guaranteed that all operational measures have already been adopted and that it has offered the necessary assistance to passengers.

The company also reinforced that it adopts all operational and technical security measures to guarantee a safe trip for all of the company's customers.
