Google has released a May update to the Android operating system for its smartphones, which not only includes the usual security fixes, but also contains some device-specific improvements.
The most important of these have to do with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices and their haptics. After last year’s update, the owners of these phones have noticed that the vibration of notifications has become weaker than before, and the situation should be corrected in the new firmware.
Also note that the May update contains a fix for an issue that “occasionally causes the display to wake up without user interaction”, as well as a fix for an issue that causes “launcher crashes after restarting the device under certain conditions”. These two apply to all Pixel smartphones that are still supported.
Recall that the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 were the first to receive the latest version of Android 12.
