The presidents of different countries of the Latin America posted on Twitter this Sunday (19) to congratulate deputy Gabriel Boric for the victory in the presidential election of Chile.
Boric defeated lawyer José Antonio Kast, a far-right candidate, according to the country’s Electoral Service. With 99.47% of the ballots counted, the new president had 55.86% of the votes, while his opponent had 44.14%.
Luis Lacalle Pou, president of the Uruguay, said: “I congratulate the elected president of Chile, Gabriel Boric, and I wish him success for the good of the Chilean people.” The president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, sent a “fraternal greeting to the Chilean people, who today elected their new president, Gabriel Boric. [Desejo] Success in your management for the well-being of your people”.
