Latin Grammy 2024: Alok brings indigenous voices to the stage; follow

THE Latin Recording Academy announces winners of 25th Latin Grammy Awards this Thursday (14), in a ceremony taking place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, in the United States.

The first part of the awards, called the premiere, takes place at 3pm and will be presented to most of the prizes including the categories dedicated exclusively to Brazilian music . The main event, where the main gramophones of this edition will be delivered, starts at 10pm.

Alok takes the stage with indigenous singers

Brazilian DJ Alok, 33, took his new project to the stage at the Latin Grammy preview ceremony. In it, he performs alongside indigenous artists and other guests. The event was attended by Mapu Huni Kuin indigenous people and the Brô MC’s group.

Started in 2021, the new work has already had some songs presented at events such as Global Citizen Live, in 2021, in New York, in the United States; and at the pre-opening of Climate Week, in 2022 and 2023. See the explanation of the songs.

Main ceremony

Anita and Xande de Pilares are the only ones national artists who compete in general categories of the award. She is nominated in the category of Record of the Year with “Mil Veces” and Xande de Pilares fights for the trophy Album of the Year with “Xande sings Caetano”. Considering all artists, composer and producer Edgar Barrera received the most nominations, with nine. The singers Bad Bunny and Karol G They are competing for eight awards and have not yet had confirmed presentations at the awards.

Colombian singer Carlos Vives will be the great honoree of this edition of the Latin Grammys and will receive the award for Person of the Year. Owner of hits such as “La Bicicleta” (with Shakira) and “Robarte Un Beso”, the artist is the owner of two Grammy Awards and twelve Latin Grammys.
