Latin Grammy Announces Award Nominees; Anitta and Luísa Sonza compete

O Latin Grammy announced this Tuesday (20), the nominees for the biggest music award in Latin America. The awards will be on November 17, in Las Vegas, United States.

There are 53 categories involving recordings released between June 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022.

anita is the only Brazilian to compete in one of the main categories of the night, “Recording of the Year”, with the hit “Envolver”, in addition to Best Reggaeton Performance.

The same song guaranteed the artist the award at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA), in August this year, and made the singer the first Brazilian to win the award.

Another highlight of the list is the posthumous nomination of Marília Mendonça with Maiara and Maraísa, for “Patroas 35%” in the category of “Best Country Music Album”.

Chitãozinho & Chororó, Criolo, Gilsons, Jão, Lagum, Luísa Sonza, Ludmilla Marina Sena, Matheus & Kauan and more compete in Portuguese-language recording categories.
