Lava expelled by kilauea volcano reaches 200 meters high

The Kilauea volcano on Hawaii Island Grande expelled Lava flows that reached heights of over 200 meters in the last episode of eruption on Tuesday (1st).

In aerial images captured on the 1st approximately noon, during a monitoring flight of the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory of the United States Geological Service (USGs), the volcano was seen expelling Lava continuously, producing smoke with it.

Lava Expelida reached more than 200 meters high and a lava flow that at noon on Tuesday (1 °) reached about 700 meters from the opening, the USGS reported.

The geological service added that the lava flow was also depositing a Tefra cloak (according to USGS, the name is used to designate all pieces of all the fragments of rock and air by an erupting volcano) northwest that was hitting the highway 11 road.

In some places near the openings, the Tefra deposit is up to 1.5 meters thick and represents the accumulation of 16 eruptive episodes since December 23, 2024, according to USGS.

Kilauea volcano is one of the most active on the planet.
