the doleira Nelma Kodama arrested since April in Portugal for involvement with international trafficking, landed on Thursday night (20) at Salvador Internacional Airport Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães.
According to the law firm defending Nelma Kodama, she spent the night at the Federal Police (PF) at the airport and will undergo a forensic examination at the Legal Medical Institute, this Friday (21).
Next, Nelma goes to the PF superintendence in Salvador and, soon after, will be sent to the Mata Escura Penitentiary Complex.
According to the defense, Nelma was filing a lawsuit against extradition to Brazil, resigned from continuing the process to collaborate with the Brazilian Justice and prove that she has no connection with international drug trafficking.
Accused of acting for international trafficking, Nelma was arrested in a hotel in Lisbon by the Portuguese police, accompanied by the Brazilian Federal Police (PF) during the Discovery operation.
The action had warrants fulfilled in Bahia, São Paulo, Mato Grosso, Rondônia, Pernambuco and Portugal. The objective of the operation was to dismantle a criminal organization specialized in the international trafficking of cocaine.
The operation had the collaboration of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the US anti-drug agency, the National Unit to Combat Narcotics Trafficking of the Portuguese Judiciary Police, and the Federal Public Ministry (MPF).
