Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today accused European leaders of trying to undermine the progress that, he said, was reached at the US -based summit last week in Alaska for a possible agreement on peace in Ukraine. The European allies of Kiev are trying to shift the focus of efforts away from resolving what Russia considers to be the “radical causes” of the war, he said. Lavrov also reiterated Russian concerns about the way the discussion of Ukraine security guarantees, without Moscow’s contribution.
