Lavrov: Butcha’s case ‘set up by the West and Ukraine’

Russia insists on denying the massacre in the Ukrainian city of Butsa, northwest of Kiev, with statements by its Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

According to the head of the Russian diplomacy, this is a “set case with which the social media fed the West and Ukraine”.

“This is a fake attack,” Lavrov was quoted as saying by the Tass news agency, according to Reuters.

“Provocations like the one in Butsa are a great threat to international security,” Lavrov added.

At least 340 bodies, many of them civilians, have been recorded since the day Bhutto was liberated by Ukrainian forces.

Many of the bodies had bullet wounds to the head, while others had their hands tied behind their backs.

Ukraine, as well as Western officials, have spoken of war crimes, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky calling Russian soldiers allegedly “beasts” and “butchers”.

The top Russian diplomat also called on Britain, which holds the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council in April, to fulfill its responsibilities in this role, after London rejected a Russian request for a Security Council meeting on Bhutto.
