U.S. officials have made complete statements about the alleged provocations that Russia is preparing to carry out the “pretext for Russia’s so-called invasion of Ukraine,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today.
The Russian Foreign Minister, referring to statements by White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki, who compared the current situation in Ukraine with that in Crimea in 2014, said that the tragedy in today’s Ukraine “actually began in 2014” but was not as a result of a provocation by Russia, but the result of “a coup that was supported and even organized to a significant degree” by the United States.
Referring to statements by Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland that the United States has worked out 18 scenarios in the event of a Russian invasion of Ukraine, Lavrov said with a touch of irony: “I can only additionally “As it is known, they have 17 secret and espionage services. Maybe, the 17 services together with the State Department make us 18 scenarios. So they can announce a competition between them”. He added that Moscow is considering various scenarios for its further actions in the field of securing security guarantees, which, however, he said, are less than those of the United States.
