President Jair Bolsonaro sanctioned this Wednesday (18) the law that guarantees the payment of at least R$ 400 per month to beneficiaries of Auxílio Brasil. Substitute for Bolsa Família, the social program is the government’s bet to boost its popularity in this year’s elections.
However, as reported by the Estadão/Broadcast, Auxílio Brasil is stuck. The government hides the numbers, but studies point to a waiting list of up to 1.3 million families.
Informed a little while ago in a note issued by the government’s communication secretariat, the signature of the sanction was made this afternoon at the Planalto Palace in the presence of ministers of state and political leaders.
According to the Executive, families that have a monthly income increase above the amount stipulated for program beneficiaries, of R$ 210 per person, but which include children, young people up to 21 years of age or pregnant women, will not have the benefit canceled for up to 24 months. “As long as it does not exceed the amount of R$ 525 per person”, emphasizes the government.
