North Korean hackers from the Lazarus Group own cryptocurrencies worth at least $47 million. About this stated 21.co analysts
According to their calculations, cybercriminals store $42.5 million in Bitcoin, $1.9 million in ETH, $1.1 million in BNB and $640,000 in various stablecoins, mainly BUSD.
However, the group does not hold anonymous coins such as Monero, Dash or Zcash.
The Dune Analytics service tracks 295 wallets, which, according to the FBI and OFACbelong to a hacker group.
As early as September 6, the total balance at the indicated addresses was $86 million. A few days before this, the Stake betting platform was hacked for $41 million, for which Lazarus was accused.
The last transaction on hacker wallets was recorded on September 20.
Since 21.co analysts based their calculations only on publicly available information, the actual amount of cybercriminal assets is likely much higher.
Previously, Chainalysis estimated that as of September 14, hackers from the DPRK stole $340.4 million, and they received a third of this amount as a result of just two attacks attributed to Lazarus.
