Le Pen’s far-right party is most popular in France ahead of early parliamentary elections

Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Alarm is the most popular party in France ahead of President Macron’s snap parliamentary election, according to an IFOP poll for Paris Match magazine published today, with 36% of respondents saying they hope for this party to win. Asked which party they consider the most likely winner of the elections to be held in two rounds, on June 30 and July 7, 60% answered “National Alarm”. French President Emmanuel Macron surprised on Sunday night by dissolving the French parliament and calling early parliamentary elections after the far-right National Alarm (Rassemblement national- RN)’s victory in the European elections. The National Alarm secured twice the percentage of votes in the European elections compared to the ruling Renaissance party (31.36% versus 14.60%). Source: RES
