Last night, November 4, the well-known gaming company Riot Games surprised gamers with a very unusual move – as part of its own RiotX Arcane event, the publisher announced that now the company’s popular shareware games will be available outside the branded launcher. We are talking about League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra and Valorant, which are now available for download and launch from the digital Epic Games Store – now anyone can go and add projects to their library. However, this is just a “showcase” – the launch from the EGS client takes place through the Riot Games launcher.

But this change in the company’s policy may well be called a historical event – one of the most popular League of Legends MOBA games since its release in 2009 was available only in the Riot Games launcher and nowhere else. Moreover, other projects of the publisher, if we do not take into account the mobile versions, were also exclusively presented only in the corporate launcher, but now this has changed. This will probably allow the publisher to increase its audience, while for gamers, in fact, nothing has changed – the only difference is that the games will be added to the cart not on the official Riot Games website, but in the Epic Games Store app.
And the partnership between Riot Games and Epic Games did not end there either – during the same RiotX Arcane event, the publisher’s representatives announced that the champion Jinx from League of Legends would soon appear among the Fortnite battle royale characters. And the company dedicated the event itself to the release of the series “Arcane”, which was filmed based on LoL – the project will tell about the origin of Jinx and Vai, the release is scheduled for November 7 this year.
