Leak: This is what One UI 5.0 looks like with new features and smoother animations

The other day it became known that the beta version of the One UI 5.0 shell will be released in the third week of July and will bring improvements in the speed and smoothness of animation. Now the network has information about some of the new features, as well as images of the One UI 5.0 interface. Exclusive information was provided by 9To5Google journalists, who were able to get an update for the Galaxy S22 and took many screenshots.

Samsung has made minor changes to the notification center. Application icons have become larger, and the transparency of the background has also changed. The company has also changed the app permissions pop-up menu. Now it is displayed in the center of the screen and has the same design as Android 13. Another change is related to UWB devices, the corresponding option appeared in the “Connections” section of the settings. The interface of the new version of the shell has integrated the OCR function (optical character recognition), which allows you to recognize text in images. The function is available in system applications – gallery and keyboard.

The developers have also improved the Security and Privacy section. All relevant functions are now collected in one place. Another interesting detail – in the “About phone” section, next to the name of the device, its image appeared.

Samsung has also added two new gestures available in the experimental features section. It’s a swipe for split-screen multitasking and a swipe for popup. One UI 5.0 shows currently active applications in the Quick Settings panel and also provides collaboration with Samsung Notes. Notes can be shared with other users who can see the changes in real time.

One UI 5.0 has improved the speed and fluidity of animations. Some say that Samsung has held back most of the new features for One UI 5.1, which will be released early next year.
