Leapfrog gas flow from Germany to Poland via Yamal

Gas flows through the Yamal pipeline from Germany to Poland are showing a strong increase this morning, in the wake of Russia’s announcement that it will cut off supplies to Warsaw, according to the Gascade pipeline manager.

In particular, according to Reuters, the output flows at the Mallnow measuring point at the German border were recorded at 12,740 megawatt hours per hour (MWh / h) this morning, after flows of about 2,450 million MWh / h in the previous 24 hours, according to data.

It is recalled that the Russian company Gazprom cut off gas supplies this morning to Bulgaria and Poland because they did not pay the energy giant in rubles.

Vladimir Putin has demanded that the countries he describes as “unfriendly” agree on a payment system under which they will open accounts with Gazprombank and make payments for Russian gas imports in euros or dollars converted into rubles.

Gazprom also warned that gas supplies to Germany, Hungary and Serbia, which pass through Poland and Bulgaria, would be cut off in the event of unauthorized detention by Warsaw and Sofia.

It is noted that the volumes of Russian gas to Slovakia via Ukraine were this morning at 442,747 megawatt hours (MWh) from 411,629 MWh yesterday, according to data from the Slovak company TSO Eustream.

Similarly, flows to Germany via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline of the Baltic Sea were 72,283 MWh / h on Wednesday morning, remaining at the levels of the previous 24 hours.
