LAST UPDATE: 15:56

Lebanon denies it will supply gas from the United States, according to Bloomberg. A report by Israeli channel Channel 12 reported on Saturday that the United States had approved an agreement to export Israeli gas to Lebanon via Jordan and Syria.

According to the report, the agreement would aim to provide Lebanon with an alternative gas supply. Lebanon is suffering from the energy crisis, which has resulted in frequent and prolonged power outages.

The report also said that in order for the agreement to move forward, the United States would have to make an exception to the sanctions imposed on the Assad regime in Syria, while the gas would be supplied from the Tamar and Leviathan fields off the coast of Israel. .
