Lebanon: UN Security Council condemns attacks on peacekeepers

The United Nations Security Council on Wednesday condemned the attacks in recent weeks against the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (FINUL), calling on “all parties” to guarantee the security of the peacekeepers. With their statement, the member states of the SA condemned the attacks against FINUL positions, which resulted in the injuries of its members. They did not name those responsible for these “incidents”, however they did mention the dates of some. He specifically refers to the attacks on October 29, when a rocket “probably” fired by Hezbollah or allies hit the peacekeeping mission’s general headquarters, on November 7, when five peacekeepers were injured in Israeli shelling, and on November 8, when FINUL accused Israeli army that it caused damage to its position during an action that it described as “deliberate” and “immediate”.
