Lebanon’s Health Ministry calls in health workers after explosions

Health workers across Lebanon are being asked to report to work due to the “large number of injured people being transferred to hospitals” following Tuesday’s (17) pager explosions, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said.

Authorities also urged people to donate blood in anticipation of increased demand.

Hundreds of people in Lebanon were injured in an attack on the pagers of Hezbollah members, a Lebanese security source told CNN this Tuesday.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it will not comment on the reported explosions in Lebanon.

Since war broke out between Israel and Hamas in Gaza on October 7, there have been almost daily exchanges of fire on the Israel-Lebanon border.

The explosions impacted several areas in Lebanon, particularly the southern suburbs of Beirut, according to Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces.
