“Legally Blonde”: series is being produced by Reese Witherspoon

A series set in the world of the film “Legally Blonde ” is in production at Amazon MGM Studios. The press office confirmed that the executive production is by Reese Witherspoon protagonist of the feature films.

Together with her, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage – a duo known for writing Gossip Girl – are producing and writing the project, which has no further details about the plot and cast yet.

Witherspoon's production is done through Hello Sunshine, a company created in 2016 to create works focusing on women, female power and empowerment. Some successful feature films and series are on the producer's list of works, such as “Little Fires Everywhere”, “Big Little Lies”, “Daisy Jones & The Six”, among others.

The “Legally Blonde” series will be another project developed by Amazon after acquiring MGM in 2012. With the purchase, it obtained intellectual property and control of the studio's productions.

In the original film, released in 2001, Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) is left for another by her boyfriend, Warner Huntington III (Matthew Davis), when he goes to college. The girl's goal was to marry her ex, who justifies the breakup because it is futile. With this, Elle does not give up and decides to study in order to also go to law school and prove her intelligence.

The second part of the film was released in 2003 and “Legalmente Loira 3”, even though it was announced in 2018, still does not have a release date.
