Yesterday, May 12, LEGO officially unveiled a new set called Optimus Prime G1 with one of the main characters of the Transformers movie franchise. Fans of plastic bricks are given the opportunity to assemble the world-famous Autobot from 1508 parts, which can be called a difficult task, but the main feature of the novelty is that this is not a static figure, but a character with nineteen points of articulation and, most importantly, a transformation function into complete truck. The process of transforming from an upright robot to a vehicle is, of course, simplified in comparison with the film, but it still looks impressive.
What’s more, in traditional LEGO fashion, the figure comes with a lot of accessories included – a potential fan who decides to pay $ 170 for a set will receive an ion blaster, a translucent Energon Axe, a jetpack, an Energon Cube and even the Matrix of Leadership. At the same time, of course, there are a lot of drawings on the network that allow you to assemble a static character from improvised elements, while the new kit allows you to transform a robot into a tractor without making any changes to the design in just three movements. And, apparently, this is just the beginning of a new line of sets.

LEGO representatives said that this is one of the first sets that allows you to convert from one model to another without having to rebuild the structure. This means that in the foreseeable future, the manufacturer will introduce many more kits with similar mechanics (if Optimus Prime is actively bought). Fortunately, the universe of the Transformers film franchise is replete with hundreds of different characters that can be stuffed into a box to the delight of fans.
