Leica introduced a wrist watch

Leica, a company specializing in the production of digital and analog cameras for home and professional use, has introduced the Leica L1 and L2 premium wristwatches.

Leica calls them “two wonderful watches with a patented push-down crown”. The watch was designed by Prof. Achim Heine, who has designed many Leica products in the past. As a result, the Leica L1 and Leica L2 contain references to Leica’s signature features. These include, for example, the slim design of the hour hands and applied indexes, the shape of the stainless steel case, the special notches on the crowns and the convex glass reminiscent of a camera lens.

Both models are equipped with a brand new hand-wound mechanical movement. The mechanism is visible through the transparent case back made of durable sapphire glass, which protects the watch from scratches. Maintaining the “Made in Germany” label was extremely important to Leica, which is why the company entered into a partnership agreement with Lehmann Prazision GmbH. As a result, the movement and most of the watch’s components were designed and manufactured at the Lehmann factory in the Black Forest region of Germany.

In terms of watch performance, Leica noted that both models share many features, including 5ATM water resistance. The Leica L1 sells for 9,500 euros and the Leica L2 costs 13,500 euros.
