The Leica camera prototype, created in 2013 by former Apple designers Sir Jonathon Ive and Mark Newson, will be up for sale this June at the Leitz Photographica Auction. The prototype, which exists in a single copy, was created during the development of the Leica M (RED) camera, which was sold in 2013 at a charity auction for $ 1.8 million.

The prototype camera is very similar to the final (RED) Leica M, but lacks some details. In particular, it has a smooth, reflective metal surface, while the surface of the camera sold at auction in 2013 was more matte with a mesh texture. The markings on the camera controls are different. There is no marking at all on the APO-Summicron-M 50mm F2 ASPH lens, which is in the final version.

It is expected that the auction will start from 100 thousand euros, and the final offer will be in the range of 200-250 thousand euros.
The description on the auction page does not say if the prototype is a functioning camera.
