Leica’s first smartphone called Leitz Phone 1 is already on sale in Japan

The first smartphone from Leica, which was announced in June this year, went on sale. The device is dubbed the Leitz Phone 1. The smartphone is only sold in Japan and is available in Softbank’s online and retail stores for about $ 1,700.

The main camera of the Leitz Phone 1 received an inch 20.2-megapixel image sensor, an F / 1.9 aperture lens, electronic image stabilization and autofocus with 6x digital zoom. The front camera has a resolution of 12.6 megapixels, a lens with an aperture of f / 2.3 and a viewing angle of 78 degrees.

Created as a tribute to company founder Ernst Leitz and only available in Japan, the Leitz Phone 1 retains the core characteristics of the Aquos R6. This means it has a Snapdragon 888 SoC with 5G connectivity and Wi-Fi 6, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of flash storage, a 6.6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1260 x 2730 pixels. The smartphone runs on an operating system.
