Lemmer: Macron needs a majority, but not a coalition of parties

French Finance Minister Bruno Lemerre said today that Emanuel Macron would spend the next two weeks trying to persuade voters to vote for him in the second round of the presidential election, adding that he was opposed to forming a coalition government.

Asked about the possibility of forming a coalition between parties of different tendencies in order for Macron to remain in power, Lemmer said: “I do not think it is in our interest to have a majority in a puzzle style, consisting of small pieces. which we will have to constantly update. ”

Lemmer also said that issues often linked to the political left, such as the fight against climate change and the strengthening of the European Union, would play a key role in the next two weeks of the election campaign.
