Addressing the crowd in São Pedro Square, Pope Leo XIV paid tribute to the late Pope Francis, encouraging the faithful to resemble the legacy of the predecessor pontiff.
“Let us keep in our ears the weak voice of Pope Francis who blesses Rome. The Pope who blessed Rome gave his blessing to the whole world that Easter morning,” said Leo XIV, referring to the day of the death of Francis on April 21.
“Allow me to continue this blessing. God loves us. God loves everyone. Evil will not prevail,” he added in Italian, addressing the multitude gathered in the Vatican.
